Ndaani’ Gueela’ / En el Vientre de La Noche / In the Belly of the Night: A Trilingual Poetry Reading with Irma Pineda & her translator Wendy Call, with live interpretation.

A trilingual poetry reading featuring Binnizá (Zapotec) poet Irma Pineda and her translator Wendy Call, with live Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish interpretation and captioning will be provided. This event is open to the public.

Irma Pineda (Binnizá/Isthmus Zapotec) has published twelve books of self-translated bilingual (Spanish-Isthmus Zapotec) poetry. She represents Latin American Indigenous peoples at the United Nations’s Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and lives in Juchitán, Oaxaca.

Una lectura de poesía trilingüe con la poeta binnizá (zapoteca) Irma Pineda y su traductora Wendy Call, con interpretación en vivo (de español al inglés y de inglés al español). Este evento está abierto al público.

Irma Pineda (Binnizá/Istmo Zapoteco) ha publicado doce libros bilingües de poesía autotraducida desde el zapoteco istmeño al castellano. Representa a los pueblos indígenas de América Latina en el Foro Permanente de las Naciones Unidas para las Cuestiones Indígenas y vive en Juchitán, Oaxaca.
